Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis

Course covers how to respond to possible anaphylactic shock or anaphylaxis and how to treat it safely.

This training is for qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders to enable them to recognise and treat anaphylaxis safely and effectively.

Training includes:

  • Describing anaphylaxis
  • Identifying triggers for anaphylaxis
  • Life threatening problems associated with the airway, breathing, Circulation, disability and exposure.
  • Explaining the need for an early call for help
  • Treatment for anaphylaxis
  • Key features of adrenaline-auto injectors
  • Initial assessments using the ABCDE approach
  • Recovery position
  • Resuscitation of an adult and/or child
  • Recognising the need to use an auto injector
  • Prepare medication for administration during anaphylaxis treatment
  • Safe use of auto injector
  • Safe disposal of sharps
  • Handing over the casualty to medical professionals

A maximum of 12 delegates per course

Delegate work booklets are included

Certificates and course registration cost £5.50 to £10.50 per participation, subject to course type.
