FAQs

General FAQs

1. What makes PRICE Training different from other providers?
We don’t offer “off-the-shelf” courses. Every programme is bespoke, based on a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to make sure it fits your workforce, your service, and the people you support.
2. Who do you provide training for?
We work across education, health, and social care who support a range of people including adults, children, people with learning disabilities, autistic people, and those living with dementia or acquired brain injuries.
3. How do I know which course is right for my organisation?
We’ll guide you through this. Following an initial conversation, we carry out a TNA and design a tailored programme that reflects your needs and priorities.

Course Delivery

4. Can you deliver training flexibly to meet our needs?
Yes. Our courses are modular and can be delivered during the day, in twilight sessions, or at weekends to fit around your service. For the ultimate flexibility, many organisations choose to have their own in-house trainer. This option allows training to be delivered as often as needed over a 12-month period; whether in response to new staff, changes in the individuals you support, or organisational growth.
5. What theory is covered on your courses?
Our PACB (Positive Approaches to Challenging Behaviour) courses include up to 12+ hours of theory, tailored through a Training Needs Analysis. This gives staff a solid foundation for understanding behaviour and a practical ‘toolbox’ of strategies to plan safe, proportionate responses, preventing everyday challenges from escalating into conflict while safeguarding everyone’s welfare.
6. Do your courses include physical skills?
Where required, yes. All physical skills training is designed to be safe, ethical, and proportionate. Any course that includes physical elements requires annual refresher training to maintain compliance and confidence.
7. How long does training take?
This depends on your organisation’s needs and the course design. Training can range from short modules to multi-day programmes. We’ll discuss time commitments with you during the planning stage.
8. How are courses assessed?
All our courses are competency-based. For Direct Delivery programmes, learners are assessed continuously on values, theoretical understanding, and physical skills. For Train-the-Trainer courses, assessment includes continuous observation and micro-teach sessions. Competency criteria are shared in advance, and if a learner doesn’t meet them, we’ll provide tailored support to help them succeed.

Train-the-Trainer

9. Do I need to complete a Direct Delivery/foundation course before the Train-the-Trainer programme?
We recommend it as best practice. Attending a Direct Delivery PACB course first gives you a strong foundation of knowledge and experience before starting the Train-the-Trainer course. Learners who follow this pathway often find the programme more manageable, as they are building on prior understanding rather than absorbing everything at once.
10. What support do in-house trainers receive?
In-house trainers are supported through our Train-the-Trainer model. They receive access to a secure online resource library with guidance materials, technique videos, and updated content. We also provide ongoing advice and quality assurance support to help you embed learning and sustain good practice.
11. As an in-house trainer, can I deliver training to other organisations?
No. PRICE Trainers are only authorised to deliver training within the commissioning organisation named on the booking form and certificate. If a trainer leaves that organisation, their accreditation ends and cannot be transferred. Neither the organisation nor the trainer is permitted to sell or charge for PRICE Training courses, either internally or externally.

Certification & Compliance

12. Are your courses certified by the RRN?
Yes. Our Positive Approaches to Challenging Behaviour (PACB©) curriculum is RRN-approved, where applicable. If your service is classed as mandatory, we’ll explain how this impacts delivery (such as minimum theory hours and trainer-to-delegate ratios). You can find out more information here (LINK TO CERTIFIED TRAINING PROVIDER PAGE)
13. What happens if I don’t complete my refresher training?
Certification lasts for 12 months. If you don’t renew within that time, you are no longer certified to use the PRICE Training system. For in-house trainers, this also means you cannot cascade training within your organisation, and your access to the members’ area will be revoked.

Support & Aftercare

15. What support do you provide after training?
Our partnership doesn’t end with delivery. We provide access to resources, ongoing advice, refreshers, and quality assurance support to help you embed learning and sustain good practice.
16. What if I forget some of the techniques?
After a Direct Delivery course, you’ll receive recap documents to help you refresh your memory. In-house trainers also have access to our members’ area, which includes technique videos and additional resources. If you’re still unsure, our team is always available to provide extra guidance.
17. How do I book training?
Simply get in touch with our team. We’ll arrange an initial consultation, confirm your requirements, and then design a bespoke programme with you.
